Apple scraps M2 Extreme, moves ahead with M2 Ultra for Mac Pro

There will not be the "M2 Extreme" variant of the much anticipated Mac Pro. Instead, the top-end Mac will come with the M2 Ultra, says Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his newsletter Power On. The "Extreme" variant of the M2 chip was reported to be a dual M2 Ultra, having 48 CPU cores and 152 GPU cores.
