Microsoft has won FTC fight for its $69 billion deal to buy Activision Blizzard

Microsoft has won approval from a US court to proceed with its $69bn deal to acquire gaming company Activision Blizzard. The US Federal Trade Commission's effort to block the largest-ever gaming deal was defeated. The combination will make Microsoft the third largest global video game company, behind Tencent and Sony. Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley denied the FTC's preliminary injunction seeking to block the deal on the grounds it could harm gamers. However, the UK has already rejected the deal. The FTC plans to announce its next step in the coming days.
