Pornhub’s parent company is changing its name, here's why

Pornhub's parent company, MindGeek, has changed its name to Aylo, stating a "fresh start" and renewed commitment to innovation, diverse and inclusive adult content, and trust and safety. Ethical Capital Partners, a Canadian-based private equity firm, bought the parent company in March this year. In recent years, as well as its CEO and COO stepping down in mid-2022, Pornhub has faced several controversies leading to permanent bans on Instagram and YouTube, site access blocked in some US states, and major payment services providers withdrawing from it.
