Reed Jobs, son of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, has started venture firm Yosemite Management through a spin-off from his mother's investment and philanthropy organisation, Emerson Collective, where he served as managing director. Yosemite has closed a $200m fund, oversubscribed thanks to investments from individuals and institutions including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, John Doerr and MIT. The fund will specialise in healthcare startups, with a focus on cancer treatments. Yosemite will make traditional venture investments and provide grants. "We're on a mission...to lead the next chapter in the fight against cancer," said Jobs.
