Zoom back tracks on its policy to train AI tools on customer data

Zoom, the video conferencing platform, has changed its terms of service to require user consent before using customer data to train and refine its AI and machine-learning models. The platform faced an outcry after the initial update allowed it to use such data without this consent. The types of data covered by the terms, which apply to the Service Generated Data category, have not been clearly defined. Zoom offers a machine learning feature called Zoom IQ, which uses data to create automated responses. Use of this feature will require consent.
