Chandrayaan 3 Rover put to sleep: What this means and what happens if it does not wake up

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced that the rover 'Pragyaan' of Chandrayaan 3 has completed its tasks on the lunar surface and has been put into sleep mode. The rover has covered over 100 meters in just 10 days, surpassing the achievements of previous missions. If the rover does not wake up, it will remain on the Moon as India's lunar ambassador. The lander and rover were designed to last for 14 Earth days, excluding the first two and last two days.
