Amazon cuts jobs in communications divisions of Amazon Studios, Prime Video and Music; read company's statement

Amazon has reportedly cut jobs in its communications divisions, affecting over 5% of the workforce in Amazon Studios, Prime Video, and Music. However, the cuts represent less than 1% of Amazon's global communications staff. The affected employees will receive pay, benefits, severance packages, and job-placement support. This comes after previous rounds of layoffs at Amazon, including the elimination of 18,000 positions between November 2022 and January 2023. Additionally, Amazon recently announced the shutdown of its live audio service, Amp, as part of cost-cutting measures.
